Turn passers-by into orders with a poster by your shed

A printed poster with your QR code is one of the cheapest, most effective ways to win local orders. Here's how to make one in a couple of minutes.

Most of the people who walk or drive past your shed will never think to search for you online. A poster puts your shop in front of them at exactly the right moment — and a QR code means they can order there and then, without typing anything.

Make your poster in two minutes

You don't need to design anything. MyCakeShed builds a branded poster for you, complete with a scannable QR code that links straight to your storefront.

  1. Open your Dashboard and find the "Share your shop" panel.
  2. Click "Create poster" — your logo, colours and QR code are already in place.
  3. Add a short line of text if you like (for example "Fresh bakes every Friday & Saturday").
  4. Click "Print / Save PDF" to print it at home or save it to print elsewhere.

Where to put it

  • On or right beside your shed, at eye level so it's easy to scan.
  • On your honesty box or collection point.
  • In a clear plastic wallet or laminated, so it survives the weather.
  • On community noticeboards — the village shop, pub, library, church hall or leisure centre.
  • In the window of any local business happy to help (cafés and farm shops are often glad to).

Print a few copies. A poster at your shed and one on the local noticeboard reach two completely different sets of customers.

Make it easy to say yes

Keep the message short and specific. "Order fresh brownies for the weekend" works far better than "Visit our website". Tell people what they can get and when, then let the QR code do the rest.
