Terms of service

The terms that apply to customers, bakers and other users of MyCakeShed.

Effective 11 August 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern use of the MyCakeShed website, customer accounts, baker workspaces and related services operated by DOBBA LTD (a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17377286), of 46 Banksfield Avenue, Preston, PR2 3RN, United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you use MyCakeShed for a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.

MyCakeShed provides marketplace and software services. Each bakery storefront is operated by the named independent baker. Unless a page expressly says otherwise, the contract for baked goods is between the customer and that baker, not MyCakeShed.

2. Accounts and acceptable use

You must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.

  • Do not use the service unlawfully, fraudulently or to harm another person.
  • Do not probe, disrupt, scrape at unreasonable volume, reverse engineer or bypass security or access controls.
  • Do not upload content that infringes rights, is misleading, malicious or unlawful.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

3. Baker responsibilities

Bakers are responsible for the accuracy, legality and safety of their storefront, products and fulfilment. This includes prices, descriptions, images, availability, ingredients, allergens, dietary claims, food-business registration, hygiene, insurance, taxes and compliance with consumer law.

A baker must honour accepted orders, communicate material changes promptly, protect customer information, and provide legally required cancellation or refund rights. MyCakeShed may review applications and content but does not guarantee a baker, product or claim.

4. Customer orders

A customer submits an order by completing checkout and payment. An order is accepted when payment is confirmed and an order confirmation is issued, subject to fraud and availability checks. Product customisation and fulfilment details form part of the order.

Customers must review product descriptions, ingredients, allergen warnings, collection or delivery details and contact information before paying. If an allergy or dietary requirement is important, contact the baker before ordering. MyCakeShed and bakers cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment unless expressly stated.

5. Prices, payments and fees

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include applicable taxes where the baker is required to include them. Delivery fees, discounts and the order total are shown before payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. MyCakeShed does not store full card details.

Bakers authorise deduction of the platform fee and payment-processing amounts described in their workspace or agreed plan. MyCakeShed may change future pricing by giving reasonable notice; changes do not alter orders already accepted.

Bakers must not use MyCakeShed messaging or any other platform feature to arrange or request off-platform payment for an order introduced or discussed through MyCakeShed in order to avoid commission or other platform fees. If we reasonably determine that a baker has done so, we will terminate their shed and account and ban them from using MyCakeShed.

A baker may choose the recurring monthly commission-free plan described at checkout. The fee is charged in advance and is non-refundable once charged, except where required by law or where a billing error has occurred. The plan may be cancelled at any time through the billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals and the commission waiver continues until the end of the current paid billing period.

6. Cancellations, refunds and problems

Each baker sets and is responsible for displaying and applying their customer cancellation and refund policy. That policy cannot limit rights that the customer has by law. Personalised, perishable or date-specific goods may have limited cancellation rights. If goods are faulty, unsafe, materially not as described or not provided, contact the baker promptly and provide reasonable evidence.

Refunds approved by the baker are returned through the original payment method. Bank processing times are outside our control. MyCakeShed may assist with a dispute, but the baker remains responsible for the goods, its published policy and any remedy owed under consumer law.

7. Intellectual property

MyCakeShed and its software, branding and platform content are protected by intellectual-property law. We grant users a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.

You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant MyCakeShed a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, resize, display and otherwise use that content only as needed to operate, secure and promote the relevant storefront and platform. You confirm you have the rights needed to grant this licence.

8. Availability, suspension and ending an account

We aim to keep the service available but cannot promise uninterrupted operation. We may maintain, change or discontinue features. We may restrict or suspend an account to protect users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law or address a serious breach. Where practical, we will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to fix it.

You may ask to close an account. Provisions concerning payments, records, intellectual property, liability and disputes continue where necessary after closure. Outstanding orders and legal record-keeping obligations remain enforceable.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or statutory consumer rights. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care, but not for loss that was not foreseeable or for business loss.

If you use MyCakeShed for business, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings or goodwill, except where the law does not permit that exclusion. MyCakeShed is not responsible for a baker’s goods or fulfilment except to the extent caused by MyCakeShed’s own breach.

10. Law, complaints and changes

Please send privacy or platform-policy complaints to [email protected]. Customers should first contact the relevant baker about a product, cancellation, refund or fulfilment issue. We will try to resolve platform complaints fairly and promptly.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory right to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to them. We may update these terms for legal, security or service changes. Material changes will be notified reasonably in advance where practical.
